HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
You may be surprised to learn that Dance School Photography is FREE for the school, and a great value for the parents! I provide you with all the digital marketing materials and I bring all my own equipment. I will photograph every student, plus classes, siblings, faculty and staff, depending on our agreement with the school. Parents are able to view their images before ordering, so they know exactly what they are getting and they can purchase as much or as little as they like. Pricing is competitive and I offer a variety of print packages, a la carte items, and digital files to fit everyone's needs.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
My 4-step process makes it EASY for your school to have a successful photo day!
- Leading up to Photo Day

I will create a custom landing page on my website for your school - no paper flyers to print or distribute! I’ll include an introduction, clothing guidelines, ordering instructions, and pricing. Simply distribute the link to parents and staff several times leading up to your date, and direct all questions to me!
I’ll also schedule a site visit in advance to select the best location for portraits and collect the class rosters for organizing your files. I will work closely with your school to create the optimal schedule and staffing to ensure your day runs smoothly.
- Photo Day!

I provide all the necessary equipment and my setup is quick and easy.
I give each child 1-2 minutes in front of my camera to ensure their portraits showcase their individual personality. My goal is to create 3-5 unique images per student, presented in both color and black & white.
Depending on your school's needs I can also photograph classes, siblings, faculty and staff on your Photo Day.
- Ordering

Once the photos are ready for viewing (usually within 7 days) I update your school’s landing page with a link to a private password-protected online gallery. Images will be sorted into albums by grade or class and each child will have their own folder.
Parents view their images, select their favorite poses, and place their order online right through the gallery - no more cash envelopes or paper order forms! Parents can contact me directly if they have any questions or need help placing their order.
- Product Delivery

Parents who purchase digital files will receive an email with a link to download their images immediately upon checkout. All other prints and products will be ordered in bulk when the online gallery closes 7-10 days later.
I personally inspect each item for quality assurance before individually packaging and labeling the orders, and delivering them to the school for distribution.
After the ordering period, I provide your school a digital copy of one featured image per dancer/class for administrative use (program, website, social media, etc).

We can composite your groups to create the one best group image of all dancers! We can also create composites of individual dancers to make a class photo completely contactless and COVID safe! For your studio, choose a wall collage of all dancers for the year, or individual plaques of each class. Let us help you create a gallery wall of posed pictures and performance pictures that you can add to throughout the years and document the history of your studio.

My name is Jill Nissen and I am the owner of The Proof Photography, a full-service portrait photography business based in Louisville Kentucky. We specialize in creating beautiful, custom artwork for your home featuring your family’s images.
Your Picture Day will be treated with the same commitment to quality that I strive for in every session, providing you with my best possible service and capturing the images and memories you will be proud to share and display. I am excited to partner with dance, music, and drama schools throughout the region and provide special volume pricing for this service. In addition, I donate a class composite image directly back to the studio as a gift for hosting your picture day!
For me, Dance Photography is one way I can express my personal commitment to Arts education. I love working with the schools and the students, and one of my favorite parts of the process is Delivery Day - seeing everyone's happy faces when they first lay eyes on their finished products! I have personally experienced, through myself and my children, the ability of arts education to help students develop confidence and overcome insecurities, while improving skills like creativity, communication, resilience, and a growth mindset to help them master their craft, do well academically, and succeed in life.
