The First Day of Fall with the Bandy Family

As a professional photographer in Louisville, Kentucky, helping families choose the perfect location, day, and time for their photo sessions is all part of the job. It was a bright and sunny first day of fall, and Mom Tara, Dad Dane, and their adorable children, Brody and Jerzy, were able to create beautiful memories together - and of course, I was there with my camera, capturing it all!

A Day of Capturing Memories

It was a beautiful and bright day, with the sun beaming down on the pumpkin patch. We started our photo session in front of the tall stalks of corn, with portraits of mom and kids, dad and kids, and all four of them together. The clear blue sky provided the perfect backdrop, with not a cloud in sight.

Posed photos are a wonderful way to capture the essence of a family, but candid moments often steal the show. As a photographer, my goal is to capture the genuine emotions and interactions that make each family unique. In this case, we were able to freeze moments of laughter, love, and connection as the Bandys enjoyed their time together in the picturesque pumpkin patch.

Reuniting with Returning Clients

Tara and Dane are returning clients who I first met when Jerzy was just 3 months old. It was incredible to see how much she had grown, with her hair changing from brown to blonde. Despite the changes, Jerzy's smile was just as radiant as when she was a baby. Brody, too, had grown and matured, and it was evident that he had truly blossomed in front of the camera.

It's always a heartwarming experience for me to witness the growth and transformation of families over the years. Building relationships with clients like Tara and Dane is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. Seeing their children grow and capturing these precious moments is a privilege that I cherish.

Choosing the Perfect Outfits for the Occasion

Selecting outfits for a family photo session is an important part of the process. Even though it was the first day of fall, the temperature soared to nearly 80 degrees Fahrenheit, so Brody wore a pair of jeans and a pink Henley short-sleeve top. Jerzy, on the other hand, looked adorable in her "Toddler Girls Pumpkin 2-Piece Set - Hot Spice" from The Children's Place, which perfectly matched the pumpkin patch setting. Both kids completed their looks with brown boots to tie everything together.

When it comes to outfit selection, I often provide guidance to my clients, helping them choose colors and styles that will complement the chosen location. It's important that everyone feels comfortable and confident in their attire, and that it suits the overall theme and mood of the photo session. In this case, the earthy tones and autumnal vibes of the pumpkin patch called for a casual style with warm fall hues, which the Bandy family nailed perfectly.

Fun Photos on the Farm

No trip to the pumpkin patch is complete without some fun adventures. We couldn't resist capturing Brody-Ryne in the blue farm tractor. His eyes lit up as he sat in the driver's seat, gripping the steering wheel and pretending to drive. It was a moment of pure childhood joy, and those are the moments that I love to capture the most.

Jerzy, too, had her share of excitement as she explored the pumpkin patch. Her wonder and curiosity were evident as she examined the pumpkins, their vibrant colors contrasting beautifully with her golden blonde hair. These spontaneous moments of exploration and discovery add an authentic and heartwarming dimension to family photo sessions.

Capturing Mom and Dad's Love

No family photo session is complete without a picture of mom and dad together, after all, their love is what started it all. It's evident from these photos that Tara and Dane are still very much in love. We paused for a moment near the fence in front of the apple trees to capture these couple photos. Their smiles and the way they looked at each other told a beautiful story of enduring love and partnership.
